MINUTES OF LAST MEETING & MATTERS ARISING

Read as correct.

The following were discussed/agreed:

Halloween disco – Paul reported that he has started to price up prizes for future events.

Christmas Street Decorations – All up but Dexter & Paul to check these Saturday morning as some have come loose!  Looking to decorate another tree on Alfreton Road. 

Paul thanked Chris for the cherry picker – it was well worth the expense in terms of safety.  Sue informed us that company is willing to loan this for a reduced cost. 

CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Stalls – Letter received from a stall holder complaining about the event.  Dexter has replied to their queries.

Stalls can come in from 1.00pm.  Need to label stalls with name and how much space has been booked.  Need to space out tombola stalls, etc. 

It was agreed that we need a variety of stalls.  Position of our stalls was discussed.  Kathryn emphasized the need to have signs on all our stalls to advertise to the public.  Dexter pointed out that we need to set up our stalls well in advance before other stall holders arrive. 

We need to be very organized beforehand – equipment and prizes, etc to be transported to the centre on the Thursday evening.  Agreed we need a team of members putting the marquee up and another transporting equipment.

Decoration in centre to be put up after the car boot sale on the 23rd November.

Allocation of jobs:

Santa’s sleigh – needs to be tarted up – test lights, etc.  Dexter to speak to Nigel for help. 

One or two jobs need doing this weekend – get marquee out of container, remainder of lights, etc – agreed 10.00 – 12.00 Saturday 15th November. 

Tombola tickets – Kath to fold tickets.

Raffle tickets – Update given from Kathryn.  Struggling for donation of prizes.  Josh will get some prizes from Thornton’s.  Agreed we need to buy some prizes.  This was discussed.  Big teddy bear – name the bear – Agreed to do this with Christmas theme.  Agreed to push this prior to the event.  100 names.

Aldi -  Paul to purchase 30.00 worth.  Kathryn – 50.00 worth prizes. 

Paul to check website and look for things that needs amending and email Stu. 

Police – Meeting yet to be arranged.

Costumes -  David to be fixed up.

Food – Lynn to get Turkey and Pork .  Sell at 2.00 each.  Need stuffing. 

Paul offered to serve mulled wine and roast chestnuts.

Allocation of jobs:

Paul – Mulled wine and chestnuts.

Chocolate fountain, cake stall – Youth section to do.

Selection boxes – Paul to ask Sam – Rob organized for photo’s.

Santa’s Grotto – Kathryn to organize.  Agreed for parents to write on envelopes on the night. 

Xmas Fayre to be continued at next meeting.

LIGHT OF LIFE

Vicar and songs sorted. 

Readers – Dexter, Paul, Lynn, Kathryn, Lisa, David

Refreshments – Members available on the night.

Dexter explained the night’s proceedings to Sue.  A very emotional night but enjoyable. 

SANTA’S RUN – For next meeting need to know exactly who is free.

NEW YEAR’S EVE – To be discussed at next meeting.

CHRISTMAS MEAL – Lynn to provide a menu.  Agreed to invite helpers and include copy of menu or join us for a drink later.
