Safety Policy

The organisers and committee regard Health and Safety as the most important activity at this event. It is intended that all spectators shall comply with the event Health and Safety Policy and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

The organiser has carried out a detailed risk assessment in areas that are open to the public to ensure that they are as safe as reasonably practicable to prevent injury to yourselves or others.

The organisers and committee policy for Health & Safety is amplified by the following special requests:

  • As the event is held in an open field, spectators should wear suitable foot wear that would be considered suitable when walking in the countryside.
  • Suitable clothing should be worn or carried in case of a sudden change in weather conditions, taking into account the distance that some car parks may be from the event show ground.
  • At no time must you enter any areas that are fenced, roped or designated non entry to the general public, unless such permission is given by an event official, such as to enter the ring to take photographs or take part in organised activities. All instructions must be strictly adhered to.
  • At all times if you are accompanied by children you must ensure that they do not enter any restricted area and that they must act in such a manner that will not endanger other members of the public, exhibitors and event officials.
  • At any time your children become separated from yourself, you should immediately request a public announcement to find your child. Children who suddenly find that they are on their own, especially the very young, can become traumatized when in a large crowd of people.
  • Should you be involved in any incident or have any concerns with the event, you must report the matter to the organiser, safety officer or event official as soon as possible.
  • The organiser has provided first aid and medical cover at this event. Should you be unfortunate to have an accident, then you must report to the first aid post for treatment and should the necessity arise that additional medical treatment is required, the organisers will arrange this immediately.
  • Dogs must not be left unattended in vehicles, especially in hot weather conditions. The organisers reserve the right to enter any vehicle to release such dogs when deemed necessary, with or without police attendance and may report such matters to the RSPCA. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  • The organisers reserve the right to enter any vehicle to release such dogs when deemed necessary, with or without police attendance and may report such matters to the RSPCA. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

Thank you for abiding by these rules and we hope your time with us is safe and enjoyable.
